"Loving What You Do, Do What You Love"

The past few years have taught us that life is indeed too short and that nothing should be taken for granted. I know super cliche, BUT all cliches have legitimate reasoning behind them. If you have been following along on my journey, you’ll see I have been battling chronic health issues and prioritizing my mental health since the onset of COVID. Having caught COVID in August of 2020 (and three other times since then-NO JOKE), the physical and emotional toll it has taken on my body is still felt today, almost three years later. This is one of the main reasons I HAD to put a mirror on myself and ask sincerely, am I living my life’s true purpose? Much to my chagrin (and annoyance), my answer was NO, and in my quest to live my most authentic, healthiest life professionally and personally, EMERGE well, emerged. I also learned an extremely valuable lesson: loving what you do and doing what you love is not only necessary for your physical and mental health, it is the most effective way to impact the workforce!

Engagement: when you or your employees feel passionate about their work, there is a natural excitement and engagement that inevitably flows in the workplace. This engagement, or “positive energy flow,” fosters an environment of creativity, cooperation, and collaboration. This not only helps the individual but the team as a whole.

Emotional Fulfillment: Being emotionally fulfilled is an underrated benefit of loving what you do. Being fulfilled allows you or your team to have more overall satisfaction and commitment to the team’s mission. By nature, you feel more willing to go “above and beyond” if you feel an emotional fulfillment in a project. They are also more willing to ride the tough times and stay focused on the task. Which on a corporate level means less turnover.

Stress Reduction: We have talked a lot about mind-body alignment (harmony) in the home and workplace at EMERGE. A natural by-product of loving what you do is that it doesn’t FEEL like work and, as such, allows you to reap the health benefits that inevitably follow (stress reduction, lower blood pressure, regulation of hormones, better sleep…the list goes on).

I recognize that finding or creating your dream job scenario is realistic. Some of us simply need to collect a paycheck. For those of you, I have a few things for you to think about.

What is stopping you? Where do you see yourself the happiest? If you didn’t have to collect a paycheck what would you be doing? If you need help with any of those questions. Feel free to book a free informational session on how we can help you!
